Sittingbourne bus and coach operator Chalkwell are to step in and replace the 367 bus service, between Sheerness and Warden Point. This is in addition to the 360/361 services that Chalkwell will take over when Arriva end their local Sheppey services on 11th July.
The new 367 service will replace the existing service almost like-for-like, and provide a vital link for local residents who were faced with the prospect of being cut off from essential services, including education, shopping and access to medical facilities.
Chalkwell Managing Director, Roland Eglinton stated “The new 367 service will compliment the 360/361 replacement services and enhance our association with the people of Sheppey, which dates back to 1931 when my late Grandfather started the business in Sheerness. We are also investing in low emission vehicles that will provide the people of Sheppey with a quality public transport network, encouraging the switch from private cars. “.
