Swale visitors and locals will be able to travel around Sheppey this summer thanks to a new pilot bus service from Swale Borough Council.
The Island Hoppa bus will connect communities on Sheppey, giving everybody the opportunity to make the most of what’s on their doorstep this summer.
You can now use the free Island Hoppa Bus service until 30 September.
Thanks to the success and popularity of the scheme we have worked with Chalkwell to extend the service until 30 September.
The free hop-on, hop-off service will transport locals and visitors along the coast from Leysdown to Sheerness, stopping at restaurants, museums, beaches, holiday parks, the harbour, theatre, shopping centre and heritage centre.
The Hoppa bus service is running every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We also have an evening service on Friday and Saturday evenings.
For more information and to download the bus timetable, visit https://www.swale.gov.uk/island-hoppa
An evening bus service will also run at the weekend from Leysdown to Sheerness from 6:30pm to 11pm every Friday and Saturday.
Nationwide restrictions are starting to ease, and we expect to have high numbers of visitors heading to Sheppey for a holiday with the current international travel restrictions still in place.
Locals and visitors will be able to hop-on and hop-off of the bus free of charge as they visit nearby restaurants, museums, beaches, holiday parks, the harbour, theatre, shopping centre and heritage centre.
Chalkwell will be running the service.
