With the recent announcement that Free School Meals would not be supported by the government this Half Term, Sittingbourne based Chalkwell Coaches have donated £250 to Swale Foodbank.

Managing Director Roland Eglinton said, ‘As a local company we thought we would take this opportunity to give something back to the community. Many parents/guardians and children support our bus services, some of whom may need to use this vital facility. Our donation will go a small way to making sure people have access to supplies when needed’.

Roland also added ‘The current situation has brought to light just how quickly circumstances can change for people. Swale Foodbank provides for those that find themselves in need and we hope our donation can make a difference’.

Swale Foodbank, started in 2012, is a project funded by local churches and community groups who work together towards stopping hunger in the local area. Donations are always gratefully received via their GoFundMe page https://uk.gofundme.com/f/swale-foodbank or at their donation points in Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and local Co-op stores.
